Niniola
Niniola Apata, better known by her stage name Niniola, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. Niniola (born 15 December 1986) into a family that had nothing but Love and support for each other. She rose to recognition in 2013 after finishing third runner-up on the sixth season of Project Fame West Africa.
At high school Niniola participated in several social activities and competitions. She competed in Season 6 of Project Fame West Africa where she placed 3rd Runner-Up. During the competition, she performed a live rendition of “Limpopo” with KCEE and also performed her composition “Itura” which was produced by Cobhams Asuquo. She cites Dolly Parton, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, The Cranberries, Madonna, Beyoncé and Angelique Kidjo as her music influences.
Niniola armed with a vocal range that can crack a glass, uses her music influences to shape her own style. In her words, “I naturally gravitate to a sound that’s filled with warmth and timelessness.”
She released her breakthrough debut single “Ibadi” (produced by Sarz) and it went on to become a massive hit in Nigeria and around the continent. , Niniola was nominated in the “Most Promising Act to Watch” category at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.
Since then, the singer has put out songs like “Gbowode”, “Akara Oyibo”, “Soke”, “Shaba”, “J’ete”, “Start All Over”, “Jigi Jigi” & the current global hit and new wave singles “Maradona” & “Sicker”.
On the 3rd of November 2017, Niniola released her most anticipated debut album “This Is Me“.
